On Sunday 25th of February Don Mather will present a Concert with his new band SwingShift, at the newly refurbished Jaguar club, Coventry. The star guest is Frank Griffith. from Oregon in the USA He has played with the Bands of Mel Lewis and Mel Torme and has been a featured soloist with the Pete Cater band in the UK. He has also recorded with his own Big Band using many of his own arrangements.
His arranging skills have resulted in commissions from many artists and they include a composition calledthe Coventry Suite which was commissioned by the Coventry Jazz Festival.

Oxfam Stomp raised very nearly £2,000, the organisers wish to thank all the bands, individual musicians, volunteers on the doors, and the fans who turned up to make it such a success: it will be continuing on 4th January next year.

Don Mather’s New Band with Special Guest Frank Griffith is at the Jaguar Sports and Social Club, Browns Lane, Coventry, CV5 9DR
Don’s New Band has many well-known local musicians including, Dave Speedy, Dave Goodwin, Roger Key, Gary Lloyd, Patrick Hogan ,and the Midlands No1 Drummer Garry Allcock. Guest, Frank Griffith, who hails from Oregon in the USA, has been lecturing at Brunel University in the UK for some years and during that time has led bands small and large at Concert Halls and Jazz Clubs throughout the UK. Whilst in the USA he played with the Bands of Mel Lewis and Mel Torme and has been a featured soloist with the Pete Cater band in the UK.
He has also recorded with his own Big Band using many of his own arrangements. His arranging skills have resulted in commissions from many artists and they include a composition called the Coventry Suite which was commissioned by the Coventry Jazz Festival.
He is a very accomplishes and exciting Clarinet playeras well as a superb Tenor Saxophone stylist.
